A local woman is on her way back to Co. Meath after rescuing her mother and 99-year-old grandmother in Ukraine.

Luba Healy originally from Kiev, and her family set out on the 3,000-kilometre trip to the war-torn country in a camper van last Saturday.

They delivered 40 boxes of supplies before bringing back five adult neighbours. a four-year-old girl and three dogs.

It is anticipated that the Trimfold worker and her reunited family will return home to Trim tomorrow.
