The HSE is warning of significant disruption and service delays in hospitals today due to a planned strike by medical scientists.

The health service says the industrial action will lead to the cancellation of many inpatient and day-case elective procedures as well as hospital outpatient appointments.

All routine GP testing services have also been suspended because of the pay dispute.
