The Criminal Assets Bureau, (CAB) is investigating just under 150 criminals in the Louth/Meath Garda division in relation to their ‘unexplained wealth’.

Figures seen by Meath Live show that 1,770 suspected criminals are currently under the spotlight across the country.

This includes 58 in Co. Louth and 85 across the Meath Garda division.

The main focus appears to be on the capital as Dublin West has by far the highest number of targets (293), followed by Dublin South (188).

Just under 600 Gardaí nationally have been trained up by CAB to investigate them as ‘asset profilers’.

A spokesperson told us,  ‘The work of these divisional profilers has increased our success rate as it proactively continues to deny and deprive criminals of their wealth. ’
