Save Navan hospital chairman, Peadar ToĆbin has revealed the group are organising another protest rally against the HSE proposal to close the A&E unit in Our Lady’s hospital.

The latest march will take place in July(date to follow) and comes after Justice Minister Helen McEntee became the latest heavyweight government figure to reassure the people of Meath that no decision on the proposal has been taken by the government yet.

McEntee’s statement comes in the wake of similar comments from Health Minister Stephen Donnelly and TanĆ”iste Leo Varadkar.

However, none of the three has said the closure won’t happen just that no decision has been made on it yet.

Our Picture below shows Tony Coogan (in the red top) who marched in the protest marches last October and ten years earlier.

Only for the full services of the A&E in Navan, he would not have survived. He is one of many persons over the years that can attribute being alive today to the A&E in Navan.

With an ever-growing population, the county continues to expand as Tony points out. We need the services.

‘I know I have the hospital here in Navan to be thankful for otherwise, I wouldn’t be here!’
