The Save Navan Hospital Campaign says the A&E at Our Lady’s Hospital now hangs in the balance.

It comes as the group will tonight hold what it’s described as a vital meeting in the battle to save the emergency department, it is on in Navan’s Newgrange Hotel at 8 pm.

The proposed downgrading of the A&E to an acute Medical Assessment Unit, (MAU),  has been thrust under the national spotlight in recent days following the announcement of the resignation of HSE CEO Paul Reid.

Campaign chairman Peadar Toíbin said, ‘We are asking anyone with an interest in health in Meath, community groups, sports clubs, civic groups anybody at all to come along and help highlight the big protest march on July 9th.’
