It was a day when ‘people power’ came and delivered a message that hopefully was heard and the message was delivered by a multitude of organisations and individuals.

And in another emerald isle some 7,000 kilometres away another mass demonstration of ordinary people finally saw the president and prime minister of Sri Lanka stand down as a result of bad governance and corruption.
