Meath……………1-12

Galway…………..1-11

A late late Emma Duggan effort which bounced over via the crossbar saw Meath edge past Galway in this Ladies SFC quarter-final on Saturday evening in Tullamore.

Duggan turned in a Mastermind performance, she started with an early goal so she also finished with the winning point.

Her goal saw them lead by 1-2 to 0-1 after 10 minutes. Galway rallied though, and cut the gap to a point by half-time (1-3 to 0-5).

With ten minutes left Meath were five clear before the Tribeswomen rallied strongly’

The Westerners hit back once again though, adding 1-2 without reply to level the game at 1-11 apiece going into the last minute.

Duggan then landed a sensational winner from way out on the wing, the ball bouncing on the crossbar before it went over

The win sees the reigning champions face Donegal in next week’s semi-final.
