Justice Minister and Meath East TD Helen McEntee says she expects a report within weeks from the working group set up to review the HSE’s reconfiguration plans for Our Lady’s hospital in Navan.
The HSE had planned to turn its Emergency Department into a Medical Assessment Unit at the end of last month with critically ill patients being transferred to Our Lady of Lourdes hospital in Drogheda, but the Minister for Health intervened and sought the review after clinicians expressed concern about the impact that would have on services in Drogheda.
The Minister said the terms of reference have been agreed and she expects a report to be ready in a matter of weeks.
