A boil water notice has been issued for over 2,000 people in parts of Slane and the surrounding areas.
Irish Water says the measure only impacts those on the Slane Public Water Supply that receive water from the Stanley Hill Reservoir and the Slane Hill Reservoir.
The utility says the notice has been issued following an issue with the disinfection process at the treatment plant and it affects around 2,200 consumers.
The affected areas include Harmanstown, Dowth, Gernonstown, Carrickdexter, Dunderk, Causestown, Newgrange, Rushwee (Ed Stackallan), Mooretown, Harlinstown, Pighill, Coalpits, Knowth, Cruicetown, Rushwee (Ed Slane), Higginstown, Slane, Abelstown, Castleparks, Cashel, Balfeddock, Crewbane, Slanecastle Demesne, Rosetown, Proudfootstown, Knockmooney, Monknewtown, Stackallan, Curniaghanstown, and Mullagha.
Residents in these areas can check if they are impacted by the boil water notice by visiting the Irish Water website here and entering their Eircode in the search bar.
