Over 35 teacher posts remain unfilled in Louth and Meath ahead of the new secondary school year.

New figures show secondary schools across the country are looking to recruit a total of 378 teachers, with 20 vacant positions in Meath and 16 in Louth.

It comes as the Association of Secondary Teachers in Ireland is warning that the majority of secondary schools are short at least one teacher as the summer holidays draw to a close.
