The sheer volume of roadworks in Navan and Ashbourne is causing traffic disruption and is set to get worse as school runs are due to recommence next week.

Today there were major roadworks in Navan at due to Irish water operations, the Slane road is closed off due to long term NRA works, Meath County Council is undertaking work on the  Boreen Keel.

Bus stops are being dug up at Clonmagadden., Windtown road yesterday was blocked possibly because of a water leak near the Castle entrance while a stop-and-go system was in operation at Athlumney on Kentstown road.

Meanwhile, in Ashbourne, the road opposite the Community Centre is being dug up for what seems like the umpteenth time and a job lasting nine months is about to begin near the Aldi store.

Social media has been awash with complaining motorists and it is easy to understand why.
