A Garda investigation’s continuing after two men were injured – one seriously, in a road crash in Athboy in the early hours of Saturday morning.
It happened shortly before 2 am at Bunboggan on the Oldcastle Road out of Athboy.
A front seat passenger in the car was taken to Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar with serious injuries, while the driver was brought to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, with non-life threatening injuries.
The road was closed until shortly after 5 pm, to facilitate a technical examination of the scene by forensic collision investigators.
