Residents of Dunboynes Kilbreena estate got an early morning alarm call this morning when the occupants of a car decided it would be a good idea to set off some fireworks just before 4 am.

One onlooker told Meath Live. ‘Well, we woke up to a bang, at first it sounded like a shotgun, we jumped out of bed, looked through the window, saw fireworks set off on the green. It was 3.45 am. My hubby saw a grey Audi with tinted windows. The lad ran back to the car, and it drove away.’

The incident comes following social media warnings  of suspicious activity in two other Dunboyne estates with one poster saying, ‘Young lad wearing a face mask going around checking car doors up around St Peters Park and Luttrell Hall, done a runner when caught!’
