An angry Fianna Fáil councillor, Damien O’Reilly from Dunboyne, has ripped into the National Transport Authority over the poor service provided by the Number 270 bus from the village to Dublin city centre.

O’Reilly has been beating this particular drum for some time and has frequently criticised the fact that the 270 if often late and regularly doesn’t show up at all.

He told Meath Live ‘At yesterdays convening of the Ratoath Municipal District Council meeting, I requested the NTA and Go Ahead Ireland to attend the next Ratoath Municipal District meeting.

‘It was also agreed to send a complaint letter about the disastrous service to the NTA from the Municipal District. The NTA provide the licence and fund this apparent part time service.

‘It will still take time to sort this service out and I expect more and more failures in the weeks ahead and worse again when the Christmas traffic begins to the centre.

‘I will provide updates as they arrive however I will be holding these providers to account for their utter disregard for providing a reliable service.’
