Ashbourne United kicked off their Mental Health Awareness campaign with a talk for our adult members & volunteers last Wednesday night.
In collaboration with @asapmeath, the Club aims to spread the message “It’s Ok to Talk” and to raise awareness for the Mental Health supports available in the community.
The guest speakers were the former governor of Mountjoy, John Lonergan and Rory O’Connor the man behind Rorys Stories.
On Facebook the club posted, ‘We want to thank everyone who attended and those who helped make this evening a success! A big shout out to our sponsors, @the_ashbourne_house_hotel for providing us with the venue and @Samaritanscharity who supported us on the night.
‘Of course a special mention goes to our wonderful speakers @rorysstoriesofficial & John Lonergan for their inspiring and thought provoking talks.
‘All current members who attend any of the Mental Health Awareness events as part of this campaign will be presented with a specially designed top with both the Club’s and A.S.AP. logo.’
