This is the first photo of Timmy McDonagh the young man who was seriously injured in a stabbing incident in Trim on Wednesday night.

Gardai have confirmed that they have received a report on the matter and that investigations are ongoing.

A row broke out in the town centre involving two males and Timmy suffered several stab wounds.

He was taken to Our Lady’s Hospital in Navan by a family member and was subsequently transferred to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.

He underwent surgery and remains in hospital but his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

 Christina Gallagher posted on social media that the heavy coat he was wearing saved him from more serious injury and asked people to pray for him.

She said, ‘ Timmy will be okay Drs said he will make a full recovery thank God luck was on his side he is blessed, Drs said only for his jacket being so thick he would never have survived the amount of stab wounds he would of had ,he was left for dead ,he had an Angel minding him.

‘Please can everyone keep the prayers going for Timmy doctors may be bringing him down for a another operation god mind him bring him back to full recovery bleeding wont stop there considering what to do thank you every body keep prays going please.’

The victims mother, Winnie McDonagh, posted, ‘I beg you pray for my son Timmy he got stabbed, God help him now.’

The attack was reported to Gardai some hours after it took place. investigations are ongoing and they are waiting to speak to the injured party.
