Almost a year after first announcing its plan to develop a supermarket on a site beside the church in Dunboyne, Lidl Ireland will be lodging the planning application this week.
A site notice was erected on Monday and Lidl have told Meath Live that the application would be lodged with Meath Co Council this week.
It is understood that a meeting to present the updated plans to locals would be arranged in the coming weeks with details of this meeting to be shared in the coming days.
When initially revealed the plans were met by strong local opposition over what changes were being proposed to the Village Green area as well as concerns over access for heavy good vehicles which it was felt would have an impact on the iconic trees on the village green.
