A massive brawl in the centre of Navan in the early hours of Sunday morning saw three men left unconscious and another hospitalised after a frightening incident involving both men and women.

One source told Meath Live, ‘Two groups clashed as they emerged from clubs and pubs, whether there had been an argument between them when they were inside a premises is not clear but that is what was said at the time.

‘It was all systems go no holds barred and at least three blokes were laid out.

‘Garda cars arrived from every direction after a good while and they all scattered then.’

Meath Live understands that due to lack of numbers on duty locally Gardai from as far away as Trim and Blanchardstown dealt with the matter.

A Garda spokesperson said, ‘Gardaí are investigating an alleged incident of assault that was reported at Market Square, Navan, Co. Meath at approximately 3:05am in the early hours of Sunday 12th December 2022. Garden Centre close by with plants and trees.

‘A male, 20s, was transferred to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda for treatment of injuries, not believed to be life-threatening.

‘No arrests have been made at this time. Investigations are ongoing.’
