The management at Our Lady’s Hospital says Navan A&E will only treat “stable” patients and those requiring critical or urgent care will have to be brought elsewhere.

In a statement issued on Thursday afternoon, the Ireland East Hospital Group says the emergency department remains open 24 hours seven days a week for patients aged 16 and over.

However, management says patients who are assessed as being unstable and who require critical or urgent care will be brought by ambulance to the nearest other emergency department, which has the expertise to deliver “the best treatment first time.”
