Meath Live has learned that two planning applications are due before Meath County Council to turn a couple of buildings in Navan into what will effectively become Direct Provision centres for refugees.

It is believed that a number of businesses in the Mill Lane area of the town have been ordered to vacate their premises with immediate effect to facilitate the change in use of one property.

The second property apparently proposing a change is based on the Dublin Road where it is understood that the owner has purchased an adjoining house with the intention of combining the pair into a DP centre.
