A man remains in custody after the Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB) carried out an operation in Louth and Meath yesterday, (Tuesday)

The investigation into organised crime groups laundering the proceeds of crime through property investments.

CAB officers carried out searches at high-value property assets linked to a number of different organised crime groups, operating both nationally and internationally.

Over €20,000 and £14,600 sterling in cash were seized as well as high-value designer goods and watches including Gucci, Prada, Louis Vuitton and Chanel handbags and three Rolex watches.

A man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of money laundering offences and is currently being held for questioning at a Garda station in Dublin.

Gardaí say this proceeds of crime investigation remains ongoing.
