Last week, Dunboyne’s youthful line up successfully negotiated their way past a spirited Curraha side, but this week, to inch past the ever obstinate Ballinabrackey, Ger Robinson was forced to wheel out some well travelled warriors in the black and amber.
The men from the Offaly border led by 0-06 to 0-03 at the break, and when David Carroll netted a penalty for the green and gold early in the second half, prospects looked decidedly bleak for the home side.
However, the term Impact Sub was coined for a reason and, thanks to the lift delivered by Cathal Finn, Jordan McLoughlin and – in particular – Cathal Lacey (0-5), the rally was completed and an intriguing final group game against Na Fianna awaits.
