Three fire crews fought their way into last night’s fatal house fire in Dundalk but a woman found at the property was already dead.
Units from Dundalk and Ardee rushed to the terraced house on Bachelors Walk after the alarm was raised just before 11pm.
Dunleer Fire Brigade also attended the scene at a later stage during the incident.
It is understood the woman in her 70s was found in the living-room at the rear of the two-storey house but was pronounced dead at the scene.
