New Kilcarn Bridge on the Old Dublin Road will remain closed for the next fortnight and will see traffic diverted through Johnstown.

Navan-bound traffic will divert off the R147 onto the Metges Road and into Johnstown before re-joining the Old Dublin Road via Bóthar Sion.

Meanwhile, Dublin-bound traffic will be diverted over St. Martha’s Bridge, through Johnstown onto the Metges Road and then back to the Old Dublin Road.

The closure is to allow for the decking of the bridge, which crosses the River Boyne, to be resealed and will remain in place until 4.30pm on Sunday, April 16th.

Local access will be maintained for the duration of the closure which was scheduled to coincide with the school Easter holidays.
