Gardaí have renewed their appeal for information following a hit-and-run incident in Co. Meath over the Easter bank holiday weekend.

A pedestrian was struck by a car in the Frederick Street area of Ashbourne at around 1am on Easter Monday and the vehicle failed to remain at the scene.

The woman in her 50s was taken to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown with serious injuries.

Two men, both aged in their 20s, were subsequently arrested but released without charge with a file to be prepared for the DPP.

Gardaí have today renewed their appeal for anyone with any information on the incident to contact them in Ashbourne at 01 801 0600

Last month we exclusively revealed that the woman may have been driven over while she was on the ground.
