Gardaí have appealed to the public not to share a video of an assault on a teenage boy in Drogheda last week
The youngster was attacked last Wednesday, May 31 in the Dale area of Drogheda and footage of the assault was then posted online
The student was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda with non-life-threatening injuries.
Gardaí are now appealing to the public not to share the video out of respect for the victim and are appealing to witnesses to come
A spokesperson said, “Gardaí are investigating an assault on a male youth in his teens that occurred at approximately 8am on Wednesday 31st May, 2023 in the Dale area of Drogheda, Co Louth.
“The injured party was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda with non-life-threatening injuries.
“An Garda Síochána is aware of a video circulating on social media of this incident and out of respect for the victim in this case, we would request that people refrain from sharing this video.
“Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward.
