One of the trouble hot spots in Navan, the Abbey Road bus stop, was the scene of another violent incident on the Tuesday of this week.
A Garda spokesperson said, ‘Navan Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a robbery from the person incident which occurred last night, Tuesday June 27th, in the Abbey Road area of Navan. At approximately 11pm, two males approached the injured party, who was sitting at a bus stop and demanded money from him. When the injured party refused, one of the males punched him and took his money.
‘Gardaí immediately responded to the call and upon seeing Gardaí, the suspects fled on foot. Gardaí proceeded to search the area and the two males were apprehended and conveyed to Navan Garda Station. One male was arrested and charged and this matter is currently before the courts.
