The Firefit chain of gyms are to hold a fundraiser for Kirsty Ward the Dublin mum who was strangled to death in Salou, Spain two weeks ago.

Duleek resident, Keith Byrne is currently detained in a Spanish jail in relation to the incident in which Ms Ward died.

Firefit posted the following on their Instagram page.

Last week, our hearts were filled with sorrow as we said goodbye to our beloved friend and one of the earliest members of FIREFIT, Kirsty Ward 💔

Kirsty was more than just a member; she was an integral part of our tight-knit community. Her unwavering dedication, infectious positivity, and boundless support touched the lives of countless individuals within our gym family.

In honour of Kirsty’s memory and to provide support for her son and family during this difficult time, we have organised a special fundraiser and GoFundMe that will open for the next week. The link can be found in our bio. We firmly believe that uniting as a community is the most powerful way to heal and express our love for Kirsty ❤️

On Saturday, the 22nd of July, all FIREFIT Classes will have a special charge of €20, applicable to both members and non-members. Every single penny generated from these morning classes will be directly donated to a fundraiser established by ourselves. This class can be booked via the GloFox app. Both members and non-members are welcome and we incentivise to bring a +1 to support.

This unique fundraising initiative will feature a one-time class experience, incorporating each studio in our building. With the guidance of four expert coaches, these sessions will last approximately 50 minutes and cater to individuals of all fitness levels. Together, we will embrace Kirsty’s unwavering spirit, resilience, and determination

Later that evening, beginning at 7:30pm, we will gather at The Bottle Tower, Churchtown where we have the function room reserved.. This evening will be filled with shared stories, warmth, and a heartfelt celebration of Kirsty’s life.

We wholeheartedly invite you to join us as we honour Kirsty’s incredible legacy and showcase the strength of our community during times of both grief and resilience. Your presence and solidarity are invaluable to us
