A gang of thieves attempted to steal a taxi in a Dunboyne housing estate earlier this morning.
Fortunately for the owner their neighbour was up and about early and saw what was happening, began screaming at them ensuring they abandoned their efforts.
An anonymous Facebook post recalled the incident.
The poster said, ‘At exactly 5am just past, an attempt was made on my neighbours taxi at the court in the castle. Luckily I was up packing for travels. I screamed at them and the fled mouthing off. 3 young one’s driving a white coloured I presumed Honda but not sure with an L plate. They drove off towards the Maynooth Road exit. Please be mindful of these lads.’
