Winning Westmeath’s David Murray trainer produced a sparkling performanced for his charge Carrick Aldo. He was a trap to line victor in the Bar One Racing Irish Sprint Cup on Tuesday evening who literally sprinted away to land the €20,000 first prize.
The trap 5 hound claimed an early lead and kept up the gallop to win by two and three-quarter lengths from.It was also the fastest time, 20.80 A time not seen in the prestigious race in 20 years.
The classic race was the feature race of an action-packed day at the Co. Louth dual racetrack. Racegoers were entertained with an afternoon of superb horse racing and an evening of top-class greyhound racing. With a kid’s entertainment area throughout the day and Kacey D band playing in between sports there was certainly something for everyone. The dual race day was kindly sponsored by Bar One Racing.
