Motorists are reminded that a planned 10 month closure of the Obelisk Bridge on the outskirts of Drogheda, is due to begin today.
It’s taking place to facilitate major structural refurbishment works.
The road is located close to the site of the Battle Of The Boyne and Townley Hall and is a popular short-cut into Drogheda from the Slane Road, and it’s being predicted that the closure will result in major traffic disruption on other routes into the town, when the schools return.
