After a fourteen year absenceĀ Slane rock band The Infidels are hoping to show that nostalgia is not a thing of the past when they return for what is initially planned as a one off gig in the Barrel venue in McHughs on Droghedas Chord Road on Saturday October 21st.
Active for fifteen years, 1994 -2009 their home town New Years Eve shows in the Village Inn are the stuff of East Meath legends.
And now the trio of Andrew, ‘Casso’ Cassidy, (Vocals and guitar), Owen, ‘Rio’ Rock, (Guitar) and drummerĀ Karl. ‘Mitch’, Mitchell, whose version of the Jam classic, A Town Called Malice stood out in their set are back.
Andrew, who established Boyles Of Slane as a must play venue for Ireland’s top artists, told Meath Live, ‘ We all got with our own lives but now the time seems right to get back rocking.
‘Many people won’t be aware of this but we were close to elite level, we played all the iconic Dublin rock venues and toured all over Northern Europe, and we played support to acts like Glen Hansard and The Whipping Boys as well as gigging at Electric Picnic so we must have been some good.’
They were better than that Saturday 21st will prove they still are
