Meath……………………………….2-13 (19)

Louth………………………………..1-07 (10)

Ashbourne

Meath got off to a comfortable win last Saturday in Ashbourne in the quarter final of the O’Byrne Cup.

The visitors were well in touch at half time but couldn’t maintain their momentum and  were not able

to hold the Meath attack in the second half.

Two goals early in the first half by Meath’s Aaron Lynch and a second half penalty by  Matthew

Costello was an indication of Meath’s scoring prowess, in the end they had plenty in hand

with nine points to spare over Louth.

There 11 substitutes used by O’Rourke through the game. Six at the break,

clearly giving the manager to see what the panel has to offer.

Meath will play  Longford in the semi-final again with home advantage this Friday 12th,

throw-in at 7.30 pm in Ashbourne.
