It has been a successful campaign whatever way you look
at the achievement of Sharon Keogan in getting three independents elected.
When you look at the way they managed the vote, they played a careful and managed
campaign.
They didn’t canvass in Ashbourne but worked the rural areas of east Meath.
Sharon was elected in 2019 and got to the Seanad with two seats, her sister Geraldine took Laytown
Amanda Smith took Ashbourne and now they have Carol Lennon in Laytown as well.
They now have three non party Members in the council in are strategically placed to make decisions
in the new council where all the deals will be discussed.
