eir, Ireland’s leading telecommunications provider, is reminding GAA clubs across Meath to submit their entries to the ‘eir for all’ Poc Tapa Challenge before 11pm on Tuesday 2nd July to be in with a chance to win up to €5,000 for their club and play on the hallowed turf of Croke Park on All Ireland Semi-Final Day.
Building on the success of last year’s competition, the ‘eir for all’ Poc Tapa challenge is part of eir’s continued sponsorship of the GAA Hurling All-Ireland Senior Championship, celebrating the speed and skill of modern hurling. Inspired by the age-old “Poc Fada” competition, the challenge has been reimagined to reflect the speed of the modern hurling championship, based on the quickest team of up to six people to pass a sliotar around the four corners of a pitch
The competition is open to all GAA club in Ireland and is designed for all ages and venues, from local clubs to the national stadium. To enter the ‘eir for all’ Poc Tapa challenge, teams must film a video of their fastest time captured from the centre of a pitch, with the stopwatch used held in frame at the beginning and end of the clip. The video must be uploaded to either X (@eir) or Instagram (@eir.ireland) using the hashtags #eirforall and #PocTapa.
The fastest team in the country will win €5,000 for their club, and a chance to play in Croke Park on All-Ireland Semi-final Day. There are also many other great prizes on offer for participating clubs.
eir has been a proud partner of the GAA since 2011 and is now in the second of its five-year official sponsorship of the GAA All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship.
