THE Meath South Community Policing Unit will be at Stamullen GAA Grounds on Sunday 18 August from 12 to 3pm with a property marking machine available to etch an Eircode identification into pieces of property.
An individual Eircode can be programmed in by Gardai operating a machine provided by Property Marking Ireland (PMI) with grant funding from the Department of Justice, permanently marking items including lawnmowers, tools, laptops, trailers, bicycles and more. The identifying Eircode can be traced back to the owner when stolen property is recovered.
The mark is made by a specially designed machine which etches the property item in a pattern of small dots, making it more difficult for stolen property to be lost.
Gardai will be available to discuss the value of secure property marking. Contact ashbourne.community@garda.ie with any queries
