THE Parish Pastoral Assembly of Ashbourne-Donaghmore will meet on Wednesday 4
September, and on the agenda will be a discussion of the clustering of parishes in the
Diocese of Meath.
In other dioceses across the country, the move towards the merging of parishes into
clusters or partnerships has gone a considerable distance to manage declining
numbers of clergy and volunteers as well as dwindling congregations attending
church. The partnership process draws a number of nearby parishes together in
collaboration with existing parish councils.
