Although there has been a good bit of hedge cutting in in the Ratoath Municipal District thee are still people who have not responded to requests from Meath County Council to cut them back, Independent Cllr Brian Fitzgerald has told a meeting of Ratoath Municipal District. He said he had seen quite a number of cutters out but he said this was not the case at Kilmore. The engineer Philip Treanor asked members to inform him if there were areas that needed attention.

Cllr Fitzgerald said attention should be given to a rotten tree at Culmullen. Cllr Maria Murphy raised the issue of the erection of deer signs in the area. The engineer said he was looking for locations for these. Cllr Murphy said that one woman she knew had had the front of her car smashed in by a deer at Hamwood. Cllr Gerry O’Connor asked that faded line markings be upgraded. Cllr Caroline O’Reilly thanked staff for attending to all the representations she had put in over the last few months.
