At about ten o’clock this morning a crane collapsed while moving a heavy skip on building works on Emmet Terrace in Navan  While a major emergency operation went into action,  no one was injured in the incident. One person described the noise ‘ as massive bang’ as though a bomb had gone off. Fire fighters from Navan and Trim attended the scene along with ambulances, gardai have sealed the area off. There was damaged done to the buildings being worked on, and  a vehicle in the street. Luckily most people would have been at work at that time as well as school children and parents that use the area around Emmet Terrace.

The crane that collapsed earlier today at about 10.00 am. No one was injured as a full scale emergency plan went into operation.
