Ten drivers were hit with fines or bans for motoring offences at Trim District Court. A 20-year-old man who drove into and damaged a wall during an incident in Meath has since paid for the damage the court was told. Ashequllah Hussain Dunkett, Kilmacow Co Kilkenny was uninsured at the time. Judge Eirinn McKiernan fined him €300 for driving without insurance.

Nathan McCaughley (26) Carragarth, Castleblayney Co Monaghan was fined €300 and disqualified from driving for three years. The court was told that he returned a blood-alcohol reading of 284/100.

Crystal Lee (42), an American citizen with an address in Missouri who as involved in a road traffic accident at Batterjohn Cross, Trim on 28th October 2023 was fined €200 on a reduced charge of careless driving.

Miro Smith, Willow Grove, Dunshaughlin, who was charged with dangerous driving, was said to have come around a bend too fast and crashed. His car was written off. Defending solicitor Miriam Regan said that her client was on a learner permit at the time and had no driving experience. He was fined €200 and disqualified from driving for two years.

Jonathon Reid (35), Esker, Milltownpass, Co Westmeath was fined €150 for speeding. Sergeant O’Brien said that the defendant, who failed to appear in court, was driving at 100kph in an 80 zone.

Ayet Aouichi (36), Kirwan Avenue, Avondale, Trim, who did not appear in court, was fined €300 and disqualified from driving for two years. The court was told that defendant was involved in a two- vehicle accident.

Alisson Clever De Rezende (46), Pinebrook, Trim was fined €300 for driving without insurance.

Susan Hand (31), Oaklawns, Clogherboy, Navan, who failed to appear in court, was fined €300 and disqualified for two years for driving without insurance.

Starr Carew (26), Tailteann Crescent, Navan was fined €300 for driving without insurance.

Carol Brunnock, Silverlawns, Navan was fined €150 for speeding on the Navan-Kells Road.
