A 47-year-old man with a Navan address who appeared at Trim District Court today charged with possession of child abuse images has had his case put back for directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was charged arged with possession of 66 unique images of young male children engaged in sexual acts contrary to the Child Trafficking Act 1998 at a Navan address in October 2015. After hearing details of the alleged offences Judge Eirinn McKiernan refused jurisdiction and put the case back to Trim Court next month to await further instructions from the dpp.Â
