A huge residential development for the Boyne Road Kentstown Road area of Navan has been given the green light by Meath County Council.
The Meath-based Albert construction company is to undertake one of the largest residential developments in the town. The multi-million euro project will include a housing development, community centre and sports facility.
A total of 322 new homes will be constructed, 212 of which will comprise three and four-bedroomed houses on a site of almost 33 acres in the townlands of Farganstown, Ballymacon and Athlumney. Eighty four apartments spanning across three apartment buildings together with 26 duplex residences are also included in the construction plans.
A total of 24 of the prospective apartments will be included above the proposed community centre . A nine-acre landscaped public open space will be included and there are plans for a playground and public park. The project will be undertaken by the Albert Developments company.
