Judge Stephanie Coggans marked a plea of guilty and remanded on continuing bail a 29 year-old man Alan Lawless of Blackthorn Close, Kells on a series of thefts of fuel and making off without paying. The defendant faces charges for offences over Meath, Cavan and Westmeath on dates from last November to March 31 at different service and filling stations.
Evidence was given at Trim District Court on Tuesday that the defendant was arrested that day and charged with five further charges. There were already threecharges listed against the defendant.
Sergeant Peter Clarke said the state’s application was to extend station bail to the new charge sheets. Defence solicitor Miriam Regan indicated that the defendant was pleading to the offences, and asked the case go back so she could take instructions from the defendant.
Judge Coggan remanded the defendant to May 27.
