Last night a major fire broke out at Thorntons Civic Amenity Centre located in the busy Dunboyne Industrial estate. Fire Fighters from Ashbourne, Dunshaughlin and Navan tackled the fire which is now under control. The fire could be seen for miles as the flames rose into the air.

The Industrial estate is close to the M3 motorway and would have been visible in the local area. The fire was contained with no injuries reported. How the fire started is not known at this stage but foul play is not suspected.
Garda issued the following statement; ”Shortly after 10.00 pm on Thursday, 16th April 2025, gardai were alerted to a fire in Dunboyne , Co Meath. No injuries were reported and foul play is not suspected at this time.”
Work continues this morning to make the site safe and a full investigation will be carried out. There was no personel on site when the fire started last night.
