A 25-year-old man who had three previous convictions for having dangerously modified vehicles was again before Trim District Court on similar charges. Norbert Praschiv, Johnswood Court, Cookstown, Ashbourne was charged with having a vehicle with no silencer fitted, having a dangerously defective vehicle and dangerous driving at Ballybin Road, Ashbourne on 30th January 2022.
The court was told that a number of modifications had been done to his car. It had wheels fitted which should not have been on the vehicle and were dangerous. The vehicle should not have been on a public road. The defendant had previous convictions for similar offences.
Judge Eirinn McKiernan imposed a two-month prison sentence suspended for 12 months. She also imposed a €300 fine and a two-year disqualification.
