A business owned by Meath Senator Linda Nelson Murray and her husband Finbarr is among two local businesses served with food safety orders by the Food Safety Authority of Ireland. The Zone Activity Centre at Mullaghboy Industrial Estate was ordered to cease its food stall activities in the car park “due to food safety issues”.
Among those firms also hit with orders under European food safety laws was Fresh Today, Athboy Road, Trim which was issued with a closure order applying to the decanting and repackaging of foodstuffs on the premises for retail to the final consumer with the exception of fruit and vegetables.
A prohibition order was served on Elite Events and Caterers food stall operating at Kerala House Carnival, Fairy house, Ratoath and with a registered address in Kilkenny. Fsai chief executive Reg Dempsey said that every food business had legal responsibility to ensure the food they produced was safe to eat.
