A 62-year-old man with a Slane address who appeared at Trim District Court on Tuesday charged with alleged possession of child abuse material has been sent for trial. The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was alleged to have had 3,682 images and 540 images of child abuse in his possession contrary to the Child Trafficking and Pornography Ac of 1998.
Garda Muldowney gave evidence of having served a book of evidence on the accused who was sent forward by Judge Eirinn McKiernan for trial at Trim Circuit Court on 21 st October next. He was granted free legal aid in the form of a solicitor and a barrister.
