It was straight down to business today as the 10th President of Ireland went walk about in Trim today. Luckily the rain had ease off and allowed the people of Trim to welcome Catherine Connolly to the town. It was in stark contrast to the formalities of yesterday as President Connolly was presented with the Presidential Seal at the start of her seven year term. In her speech she promised to be a unifying president to work for all the people of Ireland.
Today, she was in Trim, and was greeted by Justyna Doherty of the Trim Resource Centre Coordinator when she arrived at the Centre to the applause and good wishes the large crowd at Mornington drive in Trim. She went on a went on a walkabout and mixed with the well wishers. Trim can claim a first to the county in her role as the president to the town.
