The case of a missing 39-year-old man in Drogheda has now been termed “suspicious” by Gardai. Anthony Hanlon, originally from Ferrymans Crossing, Dublin was last seen in Drogheda getting onto an Expressway bus to Dublin on 3rd December last year. Two days before that sighting he was seen walking along North Strand Drogheda at 2.30 in the afternoon. He had been living in both Drogheda and Ardee.
Boyne Fishermen and Rescue Service carried out searches of the river Boyne last February without success. Gardai suspect that his disappearance may be suspicious and a senior investigating officer has been appointed to the case.
