A 16-year-old youth before a court on driving charges has been given bail but warned by a judge to stick to strict conditions. The youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared before Trim District Court charged with dangerous driving and unauthorised taking of a vehicle. His parents were in court to hear Judge Eirinn McKiernan attach conditions to a €200 bail bond.
She told him to observe a curfew from 8.30pm to 7am daily, engage with probation services, attend school daily, attend a gym every evening, stay out of Northwood Santry, stay away from five named individuals, give a mobile phone number to Garda and stay at a certain address. The judge told him his liberty was at stake if he failed to comply with any conditions. Gardai are to re-enter the case to the court if any conditions are broken. The youth was remanded back to the same court on 9th December next.
